attached the contents of the mail so far. ============================================================================================= Dear Mr. Jacky Chiang, Mr. Kerwin Chen and Mr. Dennis Lu, I have issues about Talkback. One of customer reported Talkback issue. The issued STB information is as follows : MAC : 28:CD:C4:FA:CC:6E The cases can be set Talkback are as follows : 1. Press Previous key for 7 sec during Google Setup wizard. User cannot enter Google setup wizard. SKB installation engineer always inputted STB authentication code when he installed at customer’s home. If user can enter google setup wizard after google reset. But this situation is very rare. 2. Enable Talkback menu. If user can enable talkback, then he can disable talkback. 3. Some applications can use it. We’ve heard this case from Mr. Brent Choi. We don’t know the this kinds of applictions. If you know it, then please let us know the name of applications. SKB asked us to check any possibility to enable talkback during production and test period. Could you check that there is any other method to enable talkback function by user ? And please check there is any possibility to enable Talkback during production. Actually, we don't know which apps would modify the value in setting database which control accessibility(talkback) feature. And, if one app have access right to it, it can change the value to turn on/off talkback. >>And please check there is any possibility to enable Talkback during production. Our factory would do factory- reset in last station in production flow so I don't think the Talkback will be enabled during production. Hi YK, There is another possible method to enable talkback is entering WIFI option and pressing BACK in Setupwizard. (Jerry can demo this case to you on your side) I remembered ALT someone asked us this question last year and asked us to remove WIFI option from Setupwizard. But we don't have Setupwizard source code, the WIFI option is coming from falsely declaring WIFI feature (We need to follow Google ATV announcement to falsely declare Wifi feature on Ethernet-only device) Base on our previous experience on other project, we implemented a workaround on the final step of Setupwizard customization. Metohd: if the talkback was enabled during setup flow, we will disable it on the final step of Setupwizard. (Because Digicap's WebUI not supported talkback) Please check if SKB can accept this workaround, Jerry can demo the workaround to you on your side. |
